This is the kind of party you might want to stretch for. From Daft Punk to the Hip Hop Mixtape, from Monstercat to the introduction of single-song Shock Drops with Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Eminem’s “Houdini,” the hard thrash of Metallica and the iconic pop of Britney SpearsBeat Saber spent the last year slicing its way across musical genres.

Now for its seventh birthday, Beat Games is celebrating the community by dropping a collaboration from veteran Beat Saber artists Teminite and Boom Kitty. Their brand-new track “Danger” is available now on the Meta Quest and Rift platforms, free for all Beat Saber owners.

Teminite and Boom Kitty collaborated in 2024 on OST 7’s “The Master,” a heavy, multi-stage boss fight that took the form of a melodic dubstep track featuring a moustache-twirling villain throwing out a brutal stream of blocks. The pair is building on that success with “Danger,” returning to the neon world of blocks and sabers with another track designed to push people to their limits and challenge even the most seasoned Expert+ players.

Teminite works to infuse his Beat Saber tracks with the sounds and styles of video games, making fun, dramatic songs that still drive hard while they take advantage of every trick the game has to offer.

“Ever since I started making music, a huge goal of mine was to create music for video games,” he says. “The Beat Saber community’s enthusiasm for ‘The Master’ inspired me to dive deeper into creating the best soundtrack I can possibly make, and what better way to do that than teaming up with Beat Saber OST legend Boom Kitty! ‘Danger’ has been meticulously engineered for an adrenaline-pumping experience. Play this level with caution, because you’re shaking hands with danger!”

Boom Kitty has been with Beat Saber since the start, when it hit the scene as a captivating experiment in immersive rhythm and one of the first games to truly showcase the transformative power of Rift. Since then, Beat Games has released 25 music packs, 15 new gameplay modifiers, 1,937 levels across difficulties, and 1,283,893 notes.

“It’s crazy to think I started working with Beat Saber back in 2018,” he says. “Watching it grow from a small rhythm game into this global phenomenon has been surreal. I’ve been lucky to be part of that journey for so many years, and ‘Danger’ is a fresh twist. Teminite and I had a blast putting this heavy-hitter together.”

You can find “Danger” in the Extras section of Beat Saber’s library. It comes with its own anniversary-themed environment, Arc and Chain notes, and the new Variable Note Jump Speed introduced with the Metallica pack. Get loose, get ready, and do your best to keep up when the blocks start flying. If “The Master” is anything to go by, try Expert+ at your own risk.
